EEOC Charges and Proceedings
The EEOC is a government agency that was established by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and is the federal agency responsible for enforcing many federal statutes. Employees who feel they have been discriminated against may file a Charge of Discrimination with the EEOC.
When a charge of discrimination is filed, the EEOC conducts an investigation to determine if there is reasonable cause to believe that discrimination has occurred. At the conclusion of its investigation, the EEOC may issue a “notice of right to sue,” which allows the employee to file a lawsuit.
Our firm handles EEOC charges, EEOC on-site investigations, EEOC mediations, and all administrative proceedings before the agency. The firm has litigated multiple cases in which the EEOC itself has been a party to the suit. If you need representation or advice in an EEOC matter, please contact our office.
